In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. 4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. 6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:1-8 (KJV)

TO be Kingdom Relevant, every thing representing king Uzziah in our lives must die. Until king Uzziah died, the prophet of God, Isaiah was his usual self, dining and wining away the anointing of God on his life.

Isaiah eventually saw himself and who he was; the response was terrific. He was ready to go; he was ready to be relevant to the service of God. He could not do otherwise. From that moment onward, his desire was to do and do the service. What about you? Have you heard the call? Are you His child? What is your ambition? What has taking up your heart? What has occupied you will eventually decide your ultimate in life! You cannot rise above the limit you can see? In this year of Glorious Lifting therefore, we must be occupied with what Jesus wants us to do. It is in doing that He will raise us up spiritually, physically, financially, educationally, emotionally, matrimonially, socially etc. etc.

Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord, and he says, “Here am I send me”.

In the parable of the two sons, Matthew 21: 28-32, Jesus spoke plainly to the Pharisees and made them to condemn themselves with their own mouth. The whole human races is like children whom the Lord has brought up, but have rebelled against him, only some are more plausible/reasonable/credible in their disobedience than others. And it often happens that the daring rebel is brought to repentance and becomes the Lord’s servant, while the formalist grows hardened in pride and enmity. That pictures the church. It reminds me again of the saying of the Master, in Luke 18: 8, “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” There are so many formalists in the church today. Many have become status symbol in church today that nothing moves them again. Many have become so familiar with the church that they do not know when God had moved. They thought God is still where they met Him not knowing He has moved. God is not static. God is Spirit and spirits don’t stay in one place. If He had spoken to you and you refuse to bulge, He sets you aside and looks for another. When you are ready and comeback to Him, He will look for His second best and give to you. Meanwhile you have lost His best for your life. Many are in church today for what they will eat and drink. “Go and work for me,” the Master says, “I will go sir”, but they will sit down. Let me enjoy myself a little. They see others doing it rightly as their enemies. “Your own is too much self” they say! May the Lord have mercy on us who are still in that category in Jesus name.

Brethren, to have Glorious Lifting, we must be relevant in active service unto the Lord. God always pay according to His agreement with us! He will reward you in accordance with His promise. God bless you.

“But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory (making us conquerors all times) through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Cor. 15: 57 (Amplified)

This year, we are moving from shame to double honour; from poverty to prosperity; from fruitlessness to fruitfulness; from sorrow and anguish to joy and laughter; from I don’t have, to I am giving out; from slavery to freedom, we shall reign, we shall be exalted because it is our Year of Glorious Lifting. Your dreams shall be fulfilled; your expectations shall not be cut short; your head shall not lack oil; your barrel of flour shall not dry; you shall be highly lifted; you will not die before your miracles; the zeal of the Lord of Host shall perform it in the name of Jesus.

God is going to accelerate the fulfillment of all He has promised to do for us in this Glorious year in Jesus name. This year is the 12th year after the change of millennium – 12 connotes a lot for the Children of Israel and if you believe you are part of that commonwealth of the Nation of Israel it will work for you in Jesus name. Why did God choose to have 12 tribes of Israel; even 12 tribes of Ishmael; the first encounter in the wilderness after the children of God left Egypt was with 12 wells of water? Why did God choose 12 as a repeated figure while dealing with His people? As the year connotes there will be full Government of God in our lives this year as well as our nation Nigeria in Jesus name.

But first, how did David do it? How was he able to be lifted from a shepherd boy to a king in Israel; to a warrior per excellent? Can we learn from his life to get to know how the lifting of God could be possible? His own was a rapid accelerated lifting; from an isolated bush boy to an anointed king over God’s people; from a forgotten not for good shepherd boy to a conqueror whose praise was sang by grown up women in the society; from a fugitive in his own country to a celebrated ruler, king over millions. How did he do it? What was his strategy? Can we learn anything from his life?

“And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: …” Psalms 40:3 (KJV)

David was an embodiment of praise and thanksgiving. Little wonder he was chosen as a man after God’s heart. God inhabits the life of a man of praise because God Himself is PRAISE! When you praise God you are only showing Who He is. The Psalmist enjoins us to praise God with all manner of instruments of worship and praise – “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. … Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath … Praise ye the Lord”. Psalms 150:1-6

A praise time cannot go unnoticed by Jehovah. The revelation on the mount of Patmos helped us to know what the Elders and Angels of God are doing presently – “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: … And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: … Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. … saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever”. Rev 5:9-14.

This is our year of Glorious Lifting and King David said, He brought me out of the miry clay and set my feet on the Rock. God is the only One that could have accomplished this fit in the life of His servant David.

That was why Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 15:57 (NKJV), “But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This year is a Leap year and like any other leap year, 2012 has so many disasters, deaths, perplexities, confusion, puzzles, etc but because you are a child of God, by the power and promise of God you are not only guaranteed the protection but resounding victories of God over all the devices and manipulations of the enemy. Therefore there is:-

Complete Victory for you over sin – (Rom 6: 18; 8:1; John 8:36).

Complete Victory over sicknesses and diseases (Isaiah 53: 10; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2: 24)

Complete Victory for you over death – ( 1 Cor. 15:54-57)

Complete Victory over poverty and penury – Deut. 28: 2-14; Psalm 35:27; 3 John 2)

Complete Victory over religion and routines – (Mk 10:17-21; John 8: 32-36)

Complete Victory over tradition and addiction – (Mk 10:17-21)

Complete victory for you over your past failures, shortcomings, reproach shame, defeats debts and dishonor, etc ( Gen. 21:6; Luke 1:25)

Brothers and sisters, there is total and complete victory for you in Jesus. But for us to enjoy this victory, we need complete obedience to His will.

And what is the will of God for our lives? It is but to walk with Him in total obedience!

It is well with you; let us meet again at the next edition. Till then, Keep on flying the flag of Jesus and remain rapturable.

Yours, because He lives, your Pastor,

TEXTS: Gen. 26: 13-14; Gen. 37-39; James 4: 7-17;

INTRODUCTION:

Throughout this year God has promised He will show Himself Mighty in our affairs. Brethren, we cannot go through this year without His presence. Man was created in God’s image to be great just as our God. He created man to be like Him; to have dominion and have control over all His creation and to subdue them. Abraham was great, Isaac was, despite the myriads of challenges and tribulations they experienced. It was recorded of Isaac that He waxed great and continued to increase in greatness until he became very great – Genesis 26: 13-14. Jabesh though born poor and in great sorrow, turned to God and God made him great in life 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10.

Let us today discuss some keys to all round greatness.

SUBMIT (TO GOD): 2 Chronicles 7: 14; Job 22: 28-29; James 4: 6-10

The need to submit to God: We must first submit our life to God unreservedly. God is the Creator of everything according to Genesis chapter one. A life outside God can never be great. Abraham submitted to God and taught his son Isaac to follow by his experience on Mount of the Lord in the land of Moriah. When we submit our lives, it becomes simple to submit every other thing. We must submit our possessions; our money; our business proposals, plans and fully trust God in full obedience to take us to higher ground. If we do, surely God is more than able to make us great and increase our greatness just as He did for Isaac who obeyed Him by staying in Gerar instead of going down to Egypt. Remember, Egypt symbolizes slavery, hardship and death. Moreover, Jesus Christ submitted to God and the bible says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. Phil 2:5-11 (NKJV)

RESIST (THE DEVIL): James 4: 7; 1 Tim. 6: 6-12; 1 Th. 5: 22; Gen 39: 12

We must resist the devil if we want to be great. The devil does not want any thing good to come our way talk less of making us great; however many run to the devil for greatness. History has taught us that when satan gives you One Naira, he takes back One Hundred. Run away from sin and do not compromise your faith. Joseph was carrying a precious seed of the dream he had before he was sold into slavery. He had the opportunity of becoming rich by just committing immoral acts with Potiphar’s wife – Gen 39: 11-12, but he chose to run away from the sin that could have ruined his dreams. The devil is a liar we must therefore resist all his lies. Brother James said Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (KJV)

Do not speak evil of others. Resist the temptation to speak evil of your brethren or even other people. Speaking evil of others can ground your greatness. Moreover that person you are speaking evil about is created in the image of God. You are not only to resist evil, you are to resist falling into temptation. No matter what you do and who you are – student, scholar, businessman or businesswoman, clergy, government worker, pepper seller, road side mechanic, politician – whatever you do, there is always temptation waiting at the corner. Refuse to bow to all manner of unrighteousness that has become the order of day in our generation. Do not enjoy a season of sin only to have sold out your birthright. Your birthright brother is greatness; for you are created in the image of God.

HAVE (A PLAN): Gen. 11: 2-6; Gen 40: 6-14,15; Luke 14: 28

Of course to be great in life, you must consciously have a plan towards your greatness. If you fail to plan, then you have only ‘planned to fail’. The experience of the Tower of Babel was amazing. The people had a plan – make bricks, built city and a tower, cover with asphalt so that the bricks will not disintegrate with time and weather. When God looked down, “He said Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Emphasis mine) Gen 11:6 (KJV): In others words, with this plans, their greatness cannot be stopped. Where is your plan for life? Many Christians do not have plans. There is great need to prayerfully consider plans for your tomorrow. God holds our tomorrow but we need a road map. Commit this plan and your desires to God’s hand and keep the vision alive by focusing on God over your plans prayerfully. You are not far from your greatness for Philippians 2:13 (KJV) says, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

I know there are several keys but work on these three and you will experience Ever-Increasing Greatness in your life forever.

PRAYERS

O Lord, as darkness gives up before light, let all my difficulties to greatness give up before me in Jesus name.

TEXTS: Joshua 5: 13-15; 2 Kings 6: 15-17; 2 Chro 32: 1-8; Isaiah 41: 10-14

INTRODUCTION:

At the beginning of the year 2011, God’s promise to us was and still, that throughout the year ‘He will show Himself Mighty in our affairs’. According to Isaiah 41: 10, God said “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”. God has promised and when He utters a word, the word must go out to accomplish whatsoever it has been sent out to do. We are to believe this word and expect the manifestations. Therefore in this month and in our day to day life, we must invite His presence into our affairs. In line with this therefore, the month of March 2011 has been declared as our “Month of Divine Presence to March Forward”.

It is our month of Divine Presence – God Himself shall come to your aid and celebrate you this month in Jesus name. In the passages before us, the emphasis is on God’s presence to help His people. In Joshua chapter 5, Joshua was still contemplating on how he would prosecute the battle against Jericho, conquer and defeat the strong city. Just some few days back, they had just been circumcised to remove the reproach of Egypt from their life – vv. 8-9. I prophesy over your life, “every reproach in your life God is taking away this day in Jesus name”.

As he was trying to plan his strategy to ambush Jericho, the presence of the Lord showed up. In your life this month, the presence of the Lord will manifest in Jesus name.

a. What can the presence of the Lord do?

- His presence drives away fears – Deut 20: 1

Isaiah 41: 10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee…” Moses speaking to the children of God said, “When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, Deut 20:1 (KJV). There are wars and battles, enemies without and within. We confront them every day. The word of God enjoins us not to be afraid. Why? He is with us. Brother, never be afraid for He that is with us is greater than he that is with the enemies.

- His presence brings peace – Exod 33: 14

“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest (peace).” Ex 33: 14 (KJV). That was God’s affirmation to Moses and the children of God when they were perplexed and vexed with all manner of troubles. What situation are you passing through this month, invite Him (God) into that situation and peace of God which passes all human understanding shall be yours in Jesus name.

-          His presence brings comfort to the believers – Isaiah 43: 2;

God said, I know you will pass through fire but before you step in their, I am already in that fire to bring comfort. Three Hebrew children were thrown into fire but four men were seen by the king. “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Dan 3:24-25 (KJV)

God said in Isaiah 43: 2, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”.

- His presence brings terror to our adversaries – Psalm 68: 1-2.

David said, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God”. Psalms 68:1-2 (KJV) The wicked cannot stand in the presence of the Almighty God. “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder”. Matt 21:44 (KJV)

- His presence brings joy.

- His presence guarantees victory – Deut 20: 1

“Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” Isaiah 41: 11-13

PRAYERS

Today O Lord, I decree that all elemental forces working against my good relationship with You to die in the name of Jesus.

Let us ask for His presence this month and every day of our life.

TEXTS: 2 Chronicles 32: 1-8, 21; Isaiah 41: 10-13.

VESSEL: Pastor Johnson Noiki

INTRODUCTION:

Many of us have experienced many ups and downs of life. We sometimes queried why things like that happen to us. Many especially after we have given our lives to Christ and walking in His precepts do encounter faith crushing situations. Why, why, and why had always been the question. Lets us look at this situation this morning and see what God has in stock for us.

David left home one day leaving the wives and family but returned to find his city, Ziglak in complete ruins but what did he do? – 1 Sam. 30: 6

David experienced the life of the valley – but hear him Psalm 42: 5, 11 and 43: 5

Hezekiah did not allow what he heard put him in fear, he turned to the Lord – 2 Chronicles 32: 1-8 and 21

Joseph was a man who from slavery turned to be ruler in a foreign land.

Paul suffers much but always turning to the Lord for comfort.

- We all sometimes come to a cross road. We reached a point in life when we are not able to move forward. To go back seems difficult. We sometimes wished we were never there in the first instance.

- Those around us may fail us. Our trusted friends are nowhere to render help.

- When we look up and look down and seek for just a voice and every thing looks dreary and the future looks bleak.

- We sometimes often break down in tears thinking we could find solace in our weeping and moaning. Alas there could not be found any help in these.

- Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this point in His life. The heavens were temporarily shut. The Father turned His face away. He could not bear seeing His Son filled with such loads of sins carried from the world He created.

- He is a Holy God who does not behold but always judge iniquity. Jesus Christ was being judged for carrying my sin and your sin and the sin of the world. Even the love the Father had for His Son could not move Him at that split second.

- The Heavens were shut. But, the Son cried out “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabach thani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matt 27:46

- God responded immediately and in various forms He did.

-

Brother, He is waiting for your cry. Sister, He wants to hear you call upon Him. He will answer when you call.

The shut heaven is not the end but at the back of every dark cloud, there is a shower. He is concerned about you. Why? Simple, “You are His child”.

CONCLUSION: COME

God is our utmost help in times of difficulties. When we are down God said, “Look Up”. The sun has not changed its course neither has the moon refuses to shine since I created them. I know what you are passing through; I will come for your help at my own time. Brethren I challenge you this morning to look up.

THE UNFEIGNED LOVE
Today I am discussing LOVE.
The Brotherly Love consists of Unselfish love, Sincere love, Fervent love, Abounding love and love as proof of Discipleship
Spiritual Love is the kind of Love that the Holy Spirit Himself brings to bare in our lives. These are, Unchangeable love, Divine love, Constraining love, Sacrificial love and Inseparable love. This type of love can only be realized when the Holy Spirit takes control of our life. Without Him it is impossible to have the spiritual love. The reason you tried to love and you always find a reason not to love a particular person is because you are yet to fully surrender to the person of the Holy Spirit.
As at the time the 10 commandments was given by God to Moses, God was only showing His affection for His people and wanted a reciprocal from man.
- When Jesus came, He compressed the 10 laws into just 2 – Matt. 22: 36-40
- If any man can love, then he has overcome every obstacle to life and living: That is why Apostle Paul says in Romans 13: 10, “Love works no ill to his neighbor …Love is the fulfilling of the law”.
- BUT what type of love are we talking about here?
- In verse 22 of 1 Peter 1, Apostle Peter calls it the “unfeigned Love”.
- What is unfeigned? – sincere, genuine, real, frank, heartfelt, truthful, honest
This is the type of love we are talking about. It is the type God has for the world; it is the type Jesus has for us; it is the type John is talking about in 1John 4: 7-11.
The Book of 1 Corinthians 13 stressed the preeminence of Love over all other gifts. It shows us the need for us to have Love and in whatsoever we do Love should be the basis for our acting or doing. Let us look closely at this Unfeigned Love Apostle Peter is talking about in his first Epistle 1: 22.
MESSAGE OUTLINE:
A. PRE-CONDITION FOR UNFEIGNED LOVE: 1Peter 1: 1-2, 13-15 (NIV)
- You must have been chosen – v. 2
- You have been sanctified – v. 2
- You are in obedient – v. 2
- You Live as ‘Strangers’ in this world – v. 1, 13-15
B. POSSESSING UNFEIGNED LOVE: vv. 18-23 (NIV)
- Good things do not come by easily. You must fight for it. TheKingdom of God suffers violent so says the Savior Jesus …… Matt. 11: 12
Remember who you are:-
- Redeemed by the precious blood
- Purified heart – Matt. 6: 33 – ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom … and righteousness
- Abide by the word – Psalm 119: 9, 165
C. PRESERVING UNFEIGNED LOVE: 1 Peter 2: 1-2 (NIV)
- Therefore, Rid yourself of …… v.1
- Feed continuously on the word of life…. V. 2. Psalm 119: 11
- Grow up in love – Acts 20: 32 – Apostle Paul an example
- Covet more of Christ – Phil 3: 10 ‘That I may know Him …’
You cannot love this way because the Love of God is not in you. You need Jesus in your life before you can have this love. If you have not experienced the forgiveness of sin which only can come from God through Jesus Christ, then you need to experience before you can possess this type of love.
CONCLUSION: COME
BRETHREN, develop the habit of loving. Love for the brethren is our primary duty; then love for others follows.
May the Lord teach us and ignite the perfect love in our lives in Jesus name.
THE MINDFUL GOD
TEXTS: Psalm 115: 12-14; Jer. 29: 11; Ezek. 36: 9-11
INTRODUCTION:
God’s plan for the nation of Israel was only for their good. God called them out of bondage in Egypt to go to the land He had promised to give them as a perpetual inheritance. A land in which there would be no shortage of anything they needed, a land of prosperity in every realm of their existence.
We as spiritual Israel have the same standing and even better because of the great sacrifice Jesus paid on our behalf. We had been liberated from the bondage of sin and translated into the Kingdom of light. The God we serve has a better plan for us. We are constantly in His mind, day and night.
The people of God wandered around in the wilderness for forty years on what was actually a short distance journey. Why? Was it their enemies, circumstances, trials along the way or something entirely different that prevented them from arriving at their destination in a timely manner? No! They were always thinking of going back to the land of bondage. Egypt was always appealing to them. They did not trust in God who with great and mighty hands delivered them.
Most of us do the same thing. We keep dealing with the same problems over and over again. The disappointing result is that it takes us years to experience victory over something that could have and should have been dealt with quickly.
God has us in His mind all the time. His thoughts for us are for good every time. Hear prophet Jeremiah - “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome’’. Jer. 29: 11
And because this God has us in mind all the time, the Psalmist says, “The Lord has been mindful of us, He will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron [the priesthood],” Brethren the Lord remembers you. He has you in mind all the time. He knows what you are passing through now. He knows what you will pass through tomorrow. He has seen your next week, that is why He said in Jeremiah 29: 11 “what I am doing is to give you hope in your final outcome”.
Being mindful is very natural to God, brethren. That is why, whatever He promised, He will always fulfill.
Because this God is mindful of us,

HE CAME AS A SAVIOUR

Isaiah 53: 4-12; - Prophesied by the prophets – Isaiah 53: 4-12- The angel proclaimed it – Matt. 1: 12

- John testified of it – John 1: 12; 3: 16
- Apostle Paul said it is the only way to paying penalty for our sins – Rom. 3: 23; 6: 23

HE CAME AS A DELIVERER

: Luke 4: 18; c/f Isaiah 61:1-2

- The mad man of the Gadarenes – Mark 5: 1-13
- The woman with the issue of blood – Mark 5: 25
- The woman caught in adultery – John 8: 3-
- Delivered us from the curse of the law – Gal. 3: 10-13

HE CAME AS A BURDEN BEARER

: Ezek. 1:10; 1 Pet. 5: 6-7

- Bare our sins – 1 Pet. 2: 24 c/f Isa. 53: 4-5
CONCLUSION: COME
Brethren, Start believing that God’s word is true. Mark 9: 23 assure you that with God all things are possible. Because you serve a God who created everything you see out of the unseen realm – Heb. 11: 3, you can give Him your nothingness and watch Him go to work on your behalf. Have faith in Him and believe His word, He will do the rest!
UNRESTRICTED BLESSINGS AHEAD
?And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.? Ezek 36:11 (KJV)
The year 2010 has come with a prophetic and unusual theme, ?Better Times for Advancement?. Advancement connotes, progress, expansion, increase, development, spread, recovering and the likes. The good Lord has promised us better times in the year. From the passage before us today, we can be sure that the promise of God to us is great. To crown it all, God said, ?I will do better unto you than at your beginnings ??
Brethren, if God who knew your beginnings said, ?I am not satisfied with your level now ? even though He gave you a good beginning ? and that I want to lift you and do better than the beginnings?, then you and I are in for a great year ahead.
But there will be forces contending that ? forces within and forces without, even forces inside of you. Of all these forces, the forces inside of you are most tricky. If the enemy within does not kill your vision, the enemy without has no power. But there is a third enemy ? the enemy inside of you ? this is the most dangerous enemy you must deal with. The forces inside of you are enumerated in the Epistles to the Galatians as adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: and in Ephesians as anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, Lying one to another. Jesus Christ says ?But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies?: Matt 15:18-19 (KJV)
While I appreciate that any child of God that indulges in some of these is not fit to be called Christian, I also want to say that we can deal with all these enemies inside of us if we allow the Spirit of God to rule over our flesh. For all these are the works of the flesh. The scriptures say, ?Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?? Romans 6:16 (KJV)
However, whatever the enemy might say, we should not be frightened because He who has promised is bigger, wiser, higher and mightier than all the foes put together. We would however do ourselves good by adhering to instructions from the One who has promised than loosing our blessings due to our inaction or outright disobedience. What are these instructions?
Brethren, in this year we must render Loyal Services to this God. Let us remember that we are of God, our total allegiance must be towards Him as Apostle John says in John 15: 16, ?Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you?. He chose us and we must be loyal to Him for Him to release to us our desired blessings. While Christ was here bodily He said, ?My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work?.John 4:34 (KJV)
God worked with the disciples, that the early followers of Christ lacked nothing. Have you asked yourself why that was possible? The answer is found in Acts 2: 42-47, they continued in the Apostles doctrines.
Secondly, there is need for us to render Total Obedience unto God if we must enjoy the unrestricted blessings He promised in the year.
We must serve Him with sincerity of heart and purpose. We must be totally devoted to Him. Our obedience must be fervent as Apostle Paul enjoined us in Romans 12: 11 ?Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;? King Solomon was careful in admonishing us in Proverbs 22: 29, he said ?Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. (KJV) Nobody moves with the King and remain poor in life. This year your obedience to the Master must be fervent, give no occasion for laziness or indolence. No idle time, never be careless with your service unto the Lord. Many of us served God as if we are being forced to render services. This year let our obedience to His command be done freely and of course cheerfully if we need the bounty of God for ourselves, our family, our church, our community and our nation. Of course the year has 52 weeks, we must not relax for a week our obedience must be continuous throughout the year. Hear that song writer, ?Christian seek not yet repose, hear thy guardian angel sing, thou art in the midst of foes, watch and pray?. We need not rest a while, let our obedience be continuous and in fact be constant. Partial obedience amounts to no-obedience. Remember how king Saul lost the throne forever? 1 Sam. 15: 22-23
Thirdly, let me quickly remind you of another song writer, Beloved L. H. Edmonds, he wrote, ?My faith has found a resting place, Not in device or creed; I trust the Ever-living One ???. Where is your faith anchored this year? In your uncle; Your wife; your husband; your certificate; your bank account or what? All these will fail as the economic melt down is still very much with us. Have an Unalloyed Faith in God. He alone has promised and He alone can fulfill. Let your economy be controlled from His seat above. Hear Prophet Isaiah, ?Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind isstayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever:? Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV) Keep faith in the Lord, He will bless you and make your now better than your beginning. Remembered Job? Remembered Jabez? Isaac in a strange land prospered in the time of great famine, because he chose to obey God. ?Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: ? And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: Gen 26:12-14 (KJV). You are connected to Isaac, you too can obey God and be great in the year of Better Times for Advancement.
It is well with you; let us meet again at the next edition. Till then, Keep on flying the flag and remain rapturable.
Yours, because He lives, your Pastor,
- Johnson A. Noiki
ENEMIES OF FRUITFULNESS
???But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.? Matt 13:19-23 (KJV)
So far this year, we had looked at ?prospering in the times of Plenty and Lack?, we also considered ?the fruitfulness of the body? as pronounced by God to His first human creatures. I will be looking at some enemies of fruitfulness in this edition. Brethren, every good thing God made or is making will always be counterfeited by our enemy. While Jesus came that we will have abundant life, the enemy Satan came to steal, to kill and to destroy ? John 10: 10. The devil has no good thing to offer; therefore you need not be in his camp.
Our Lord?s parable in Matthew 13 about the sower indicates we have three categories of enemies, ye four, contending our fruitfulness. These are: the wicked one; tribulation or persecution and then the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches – Matt. 13: 19-22. These are the enemies we need to fight, for us to be fruitful and thereby receive the commendation of the Master.
Are you living a life of fruitlessness? Are you worried why your life is not satisfying to God and even to your very self? Have you come to a cross road and you want to call it off? “It doesn?t work, why should I continue? Let me go and try the other side of life!” NO brother, don?t quit! Sister, listen to this message. Many have come to a cross road and they had regretted running down the ladder. Don?t go back to Egypt, stay in your ?Gerar?. This message is written for you. ?And ye shall know the truth, and thetruth shall make you free.? Jn. 8:32 (KJV)
What are these enemies and how can we overcome? Four of them according to this parable of the sower: The wicked one is the devil. From the beginning he never wanted anything good for you. Satan brings confusion to you. He always has an alternative to how you can be blessed. In the Garden of Eden, he presented to Eve an alternative to fruitfulness. Disobey God and you can do it yourself. Remember, the devil only come to steal, kill and to destroy. ?John 10: 10. He has not changed his tactics. He is subtle and very clever that is why he is called the wicked one. Don?t fall a victim, there is no other way to get blessed and not be burnt. ?The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.? Prov. 10:22 (KJV). Do your part by believing and wait on God to bless you.
Tribulation or persecution will come. Tribulation or persecutions are supposed to help you grow more unto maturity because He who has saved you said, ?These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world?. John 16:33 (KJV) You are only to believe the report of the Lord. If God had not spoken inJohn 16: 33, it would have been a different matter. But He gave us His word, ?be of good cheer, I have overcome ??. The devil will make you believe you are alone. He will do all things possible to make sure the word you are hearing has no root in you. He will make you to be busy wasting the precious time at the expense of reading and meditating on the word of God or attending fellowships that will make you grow. He will allow you to be running after prophets and prayer houses, instead of focusing and praying to your God. He will give you thousands reasons why God allowed you to be?tempted?. And since you do not have the word of God in you, when the slightest persecution comes, you are frustrated and you are easily flushed out of His way. Brethren, your enemy has been on these tricks long before you were born. Learn and don?t be caught in his web.
What about the cares of this world? Many children of God, those called by His name are too easily carried away by the frivolities of this world. We place more emphasis on things ephemeral. We so much care about the latest fashion; whatever is in vogue. We will run after these things as if our life is dependant on them. The Saviour said, ?a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” - Luke 12:15 (KJV). Jesus Christ says, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” ? Matt. 6:25-33 (KJV)
Riches can be so deceitful. Riches are supposed to be our inheritance, because, Abraham blessings are ours. You are blessed all round just by virtue of being born into a new life. But many of us had made a shipwreck of our faith because of our pursuit for wealth. Wealth at all cost? No, wealth according to God?s blessings; ?The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.? Prov 10:22 (KJV). What do you have that has not been given to you? King Solomon with all his wealth summed up life this way, ?vanity upon vanities all is vanity? ? Eccl. 1: 2. Hear king David, ?They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. This their way istheir folly: yet their posterity approves their sayings. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. Psalms 49:6-14 (KJV). May our great God grant us understanding beyond these letters inJesus name.
Brethren, don?t allow the peanuts in your bank account deceive you, God?s intents to give you the entire ?purse of heaven? to manage for Him.
It is well with you; let us meet again at the next edition. Till then, Keep on flying the flag and remain rapturable.
Yours because He lives, Your Pastor,
UNTO MUCH FRUITFULNESS! (PART 1)
?Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself ? I am the vine, ye are the branches: ?? Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:4-8 (KJV)
THIS is our year of ?Ever-Increasing Fruitfulness?. The year 2008 has gone into history. The year with its God?s given theme of ?Divine Joyful Restoration? has left us with many heart-lifting testimonies and outstanding landmarks. Our El-shaddai God really backed up His word in the lives of His church and our people. By God?s grace, I am one of the chief recipients of the fulfillment of His wonderful promises and this theme during that year. God has been so gracious and merciful unto us all. Praise the Lord.
Brethren, I am not unaware of the fact that there are some who counted losses in the year 2008. In everything God has taught us to say thank you!
Joseph had a dream when he was seventeen years old but the same dream was fulfilled after thirteen years of hard laboring. How many years have you been waiting for that dream of yours to be fulfilled? God waited for His Son to be 30 years old before His earthly ministry begun! How many years have you waited? The promises of God are yea and amen. Though it may tarry, we have been counseled to wait for it.
You might be thinking year 2008 has not given you what you prayed for or that your dream did not come through to fulfillment. God has a program for you that may be different from the one you had in mind. God said, ?For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.? Jer 29:11. (KJV)
Joseph became second in command in a strange land and his dream came to pass. For Joseph, it was from a slave boy to a prisoner and from prison to the throne. The Bible says, ?The steps of the righteous are ordered by God?, (Ps.37: 23). If you are righteous, if you are following the Lord faithfully, if you are keeping his commandments, if you are seeking the Kingdom and all his righteousness ? (Matt. 6: 33), He will surely order your footsteps. The word of God must come to fulfillment.
Brethren, the year 2009 is our year of fruitfulness. Before we entered the year, the world economic situation we were told may not recover until the year 2011 or much later. Some have painted real gloomy situation. Nations currencies are sliding everyday. The purchasing powers are diminishing by the day. BUT I have good news for you. Our own economy is not controlled by this world system. Our economy is controlled by the heavenly system. God can never be broke. God is not a poor man. He owns the cattle upon the thousand hills. God can never be hungry. If He can take care of the entire universe, there is nothing He can lack. He can take care of you as His child.
Prospering in Times of Plenty and of Lack? Yes! The story as recorded in Gen. 26: 1-5, 11-14 about Isaac was true. Isaac sowed in the land where famine ravaged but in the midst of this terrible famine, Isaac was buoyant. The people of Gerar were counting loses but Isaac in the same land was smiling to the ?bank?. As you enter 2009 take the secret of Isaac with you and it shall be well with you.
Financial crises have come and gone, but God?s people who truly trust the Lord have prospered both in times of plenty and in times of lack!
In fact, according to God?s Word, His hand is always revealed in times of lack. For example, as recorded in Genesis 26, Isaac prospered supernaturally and miraculously, while King Abimelech and the Philistines all around suffered great loss and famine. Isaac was not affected, not even for one minute: ?For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him? (Genesis 26:14).
That happened after Isaac sowed seed during famine, an unnatural thing to do, yet he received a hundredfold harvest within months! And King Abimelech and the Philistines experienced financial disaster daily. They were so envious of Isaac’s success and prosperity that finally the king had to come and ask Isaac to leave the city.
God?s desire for you is to be fruitful. His first pronouncement when He blessed man at the beginning was, ?Be Fruitful?, – Gen 1: 28. You therefore must be fruitful. He is also saying that, He is glorified when we bear much fruit. Bearing much fruit is a must for every one of us. We all want much fruit. To be fruitful we need to do two things. Obey God and sow even in time of famine. Isaac obeyed God by staying in Gerar even when all the odds were against this decision. He sowed also because He obeyed God. The result was bountiful harvest.
You too can smile during famine. In these troubled times God?s Word assures us in Job 5: 19-24. ?He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword?. The righteous laugh in the face of famine!
The Bible declares that God will satisfy us financially and physically, even in times of famine and financial chaos. Again in Psalm 37: 18-19 God says ?The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied?.
Brethren, what God has done, He still does. What God has done, He will continue to do. This is not the time to fear! This is the time to trust and rejoice in the Lord, for His promises are ?yea and amen??they cannot fail.
